Welcome to Virginia Tech’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences farm facility operation, which exists to support the research, instruction, and outreach missions of the college. The 3200-acre College Farm consists of several tracts of land near the Virginia Tech campus, plus Kentland Farm located approximately 10 miles west of campus in Montgomery County. This land resource and its improvements serve critical roles in the plant and livestock sciences and their related fields by making possible hands-on instruction for undergraduate students, an abundance of opportunities for faculty and graduate student research, and numerous outreach activities throughout the year. The College Farm also provides adequate pasture and harvested feeds for research and teaching animals.
